Make cavatelli from scratch, shaping each piece by hand, then split into teams for a pesto competition with basil, nuts and cheese. Bragging rights go to the most flavorful and the most creative pesto in the room. The chef moves between teams at your office or venue, coaching everyone through each step as the rivalry builds. Add chicken piccata, tiramisu, or Italian wine and beer.

Roll a variety of Japanese maki by hand from sushi rice you make yourself, then pick up the chef's tricks for plating and presentation, all at your office or venue. Whether you are hosting clients or your own team, everyone compares rolls across the table, laughs over the lopsided ones and eats what they made. Add a sake etiquette session and mochi for dessert.

Team up with colleagues or clients to build a charcuterie board from cured meats and cheeses, fruit, nuts, crackers, olives and jam, deciding together what goes where. At your office or venue, the chef shows each team how to arrange its board, and then the boards go side by side before anyone digs in. There is no cooking involved, so the whole session goes into building, comparing and tasting. Add a wine tasting or deli sandwiches and salad.
Make Dubai chocolate hands-on with the chef in the room at your office or venue, close enough to watch every step and ask questions as you go. Your team works side by side instead of on separate screens, trading tips and tasting each other's chocolate as it comes together. By the end, every colleague has chocolate they made themselves to pass around the table.

Prepare tapas from patatas bravas and piquillo de atún to pan con tomate and melon con jamón, while a show-stopping leg of jamón gives the room its talking point. Built for conversation as much as cooking, it suits client appreciation events as well as your own team, with the chef coming to your office or venue. Add vegetable paella, cinnamon churros, or a Spanish wine pairing.

Step behind the bar and mix, shake and stir your own classic cocktails and creative seasonal sips while a mixologist teaches your team each one. Everything happens at your office or a nearby venue, with all the equipment and ingredients provided, so there is nothing for you to source. Picture the whole room shaking at once, then tasting and comparing whose drink came out best.
🍽️ Explore exceptional wines handpicked by Rockoly’s expert sommeliers. From bold reds to crisp whites, enjoy guided tastings that engage the senses and spark great conversation.

Swirl, sip and compare bold reds, crisp whites and everything in between while a sommelier at your office or venue tells you what to notice in each glass. Tasting side by side gets the whole team talking, from first impressions to favorites to friendly debates over which wine wins the room. No wine knowledge is needed, just a willingness to say what you taste.

In-Person FAQs
Where in Austin do these events happen?
Wherever your team already is. Plenty of Austin events run in the client's own office — our chefs bring the equipment, ingredients and stations, so table space is the main thing you need, and your planner will check the room with you beforehand. If you'd rather not host, we'll book a venue near you and deal with the arrangements. We cover Austin from downtown out to Round Rock, Cedar Park and beyond, so a satellite office isn't a problem.
What does the two hours actually look like?
Short version: your team cooks, the chef teaches, and everyone eats together at the end. The chef arrives ahead of your group and sets up, so the room is ready when your team walks in. Themed appetizers and non-alcoholic refreshments are out from the start. The group splits into small teams, each with a job, and the chef circulates — fixing a knife grip here, calling timing there. The last stretch is the payoff: you sit down and eat what you made. Add-ons like Tapas Trivia or the Pesto Relay Race turn the middle of the event into a competition if your team likes a scoreboard.
Is there anything with a Texas angle?
Yes — our Austin in-office BBQ, where the chefs bring the grill to your workplace. It's a fitting choice here, because Central Texas barbecue didn't begin in restaurants at all. It grew out of 19th-century meat markets run by German and Czech immigrants, who smoked the cuts they hadn't sold and served them by the pound on butcher paper, with bread and pickles alongside and no cutlery in sight. The stand-around-the-pit informality that makes barbecue such good team food started as a butcher's way of not wasting meat. Ask about the BBQ menu when you inquire.
Half our team has never cooked. Is that a problem?
No — that's the normal starting point, and we staff for it. Every Austin event comes with: A chef or mixologist running the session and teaching as they go. An event planner who designs the menu, timeline and room layout with you beforehand. Event helpers prepping, restocking stations and helping anyone who falls behind. Servers handling appetizers, refreshments and any added courses. A cleanup crew, so your office looks untouched afterward. The menus are chosen so a beginner finishes something good inside two hours. We've hosted over 5,000 events and hold a 5-star rating on Google across 109 reviews, and no experience is required from anyone in the room.
Can we mix menus, and what about dietary needs?
Both are easy, and neither costs extra. Teams often pair food with drinks — Tapas & Talk followed by Mixology & Mingle is a natural fit, and the sommelier-led Sipping & Socializing tasting sits well next to Charcuterie & Connection. Dietary needs are routine: vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher and no-alcohol options are all available at no additional cost when you share them in advance. If something changes after you've booked, tell your planner as early as you can and they'll work it into the menu.
What does the Austin rate cover?
Your Austin package covers the event end to end: Live instruction from a chef or mixologist. All ingredients, supplies and equipment. Setup and cleanup by the Rockoly team. Extra food and drinks, so nobody leaves hungry. A dedicated event coordinator plus free customizations. Event insurance. Pricing follows the menu and the headcount, so your planner quotes the event rather than publishing one flat rate. Groups run from 3 people to 600 and up. Optional extras are separate: custom aprons with your logo are $40 per person, and the take-home cocktail shaker set from Mixology & Mingle is the same.
Our RSVP list keeps moving. What happens if the headcount changes?
Send your planner the new number as soon as you have it. The ingredient order, the station plan and the number of chefs and helpers in the room are all built from your headcount, so a change flagged a week out is a short email and the same change flagged on the morning is not. Ask your planner what your particular booking can absorb, and they'll tell you before you commit to anything. Once the ingredients have been bought, a late reduction can't always be credited back. Cancel 30 or more days out and you are refunded what you paid less any nonrecoverable costs already committed; 15 to 29 days out you choose between a 50% refund and a 100% Rockoly credit; inside 15 days payments are nonrefundable, though one complimentary reschedule is yours if you ask 30+ days ahead. Our cancellation policy sets out the exact refund and rescheduling terms.
How do we get an Austin date held?
Start with the form on this page or call (617) 939-9732, and a planner comes back with open dates, menu options and a quote. Aim for about three weeks ahead for a cooking event and four for a happy hour. Two stretches of the Austin calendar are worth naming: the city fills up around SXSW in March and ACL in the autumn, so if your date lands near either, ask early rather than late. Rush dates still work sometimes when a chef is free. A deposit holds the date, and we take credit card, ACH transfer or check. Every booking carries our Love Your Event Guarantee: your team should have an amazing experience, and if your Rockoly event doesn't live up to expectations, we'll make it right.
