Duration: 2 hours From $150 per person

Rated 4.9 out of 5. 443 participants.

Team up with colleagues or clients to build a charcuterie board from cured meats and cheeses, fruit, nuts, crackers, olives and jam, deciding together what goes where. FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Philadelphia In-Person Event FAQs

Do you come to our office, or do we have to find a space?

We come to you — Center City offices, the Main Line, and the areas in between. The chef brings the ingredients, supplies and equipment, so a conference room or an open floor is usually all it takes, and your planner goes over the space with you before the day. If your team is bigger than your biggest room, they'll book a nearby venue instead. An office event and a venue we arrange carry different rates. Headcounts run from 3 to 600-plus, and the largest groups get split by department or spread across a couple of days.

Who runs the event, and what do we have to do?

Almost nothing, which is the point. A Rockoly chef or mixologist leads the two hours, an event helper preps the stations and keeps things moving, and your dedicated planner has already settled the menu, the timing and the logistics with you. The crew sets up before your group walks in and cleans up afterward — stations, dishes, all of it. Your jobs are picking a date, confirming headcount and dietary needs, and showing up hungry.

How much of the workday does this take?

Two hours of workshop, plus a little of your room either side for the crew — so hold the room for longer than two hours, but you are not losing the afternoon. Where you put it on the calendar matters more than the length, because this is not a snack. Every menu comes with appetizers and non-alcoholic refreshments, and the optional extras push it into a full meal — deli sandwiches and salad alongside Charcuterie & Connection, vegetable paella with Tapas & Talk, chicken piccata with Cavatelli & Competition. Put it over lunch and it replaces lunch; put it at the end of the day and people can eat, talk and head home rather than trailing back to their desks. Tell your planner the window you have and the timeline gets built to fit it.

Any Philadelphia food trivia we can use?

Here's a good one: Philadelphia Cream Cheese didn't come from Philadelphia. A dairyman named William Lawrence, working in Chester, New York, landed on it in 1872 while trying to reproduce French Neufchâtel. The Philadelphia name was attached in 1880, purely as marketing, because the city was then shorthand for top-quality food and dairy. It's a 19th-century branding trick that has outlived everyone involved. Bring it up while your team is building boards in Charcuterie & Connection — there'll be cured meats, cheeses, fruit, nuts, crackers, olives and jam on the table to argue over.

We've already done escape rooms and bowling. Why is this different?

Because everyone eats. Two hours of cooking or mixology gives your team a shared task with something real at the end — a board, a plate, a drink — and the conversation happens naturally while hands are busy, which beats a forced icebreaker every time. It also levels the room: the quiet new hire rolling cavatelli and the VP fumbling it are having exactly the same afternoon. And your group leaves fed, which no escape room can claim.

What's actually included?

Philadelphia in-person events are quoted on headcount, menu and location, with an event in your own office and a venue we arrange priced differently. Included every time: live instruction, all ingredients, supplies and equipment, setup and cleanup by the Rockoly crew, more food and drink than your group will get through, a dedicated event coordinator, free customizations, and event insurance. Optional extras are priced up front — custom aprons with names or your logo at $40 per person, or a take-home wine kit with Sipping & Socializing at $40.

How do you handle dietary restrictions?

They get planned in, not worked around, and they never cost extra. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher and no-alcohol requests go straight onto the shopping list once you share them, so the person who can't eat gluten cooks their own version of the dish instead of watching. Menus are just as flexible: pair Tapas & Talk with a cocktail session, or swap a dish that won't land with your crowd. Send your planner the details when RSVPs close.

What do we need to decide first, and how much notice do you need?

Settle the room before the date. Hosting in your own Center City or Main Line office and booking a venue we arrange are quoted differently. That one decision moves the budget more than anything else on this page, and it also decides how much runway you need, because a venue has its own calendar on top of ours. From there it is about three weeks for a cooking workshop and four for a happy hour. Rush dates do happen when a chef is free, so ask rather than give up on a tight timeline. A deposit holds the date — credit card, ACH bank transfer or check. Cancel 30 or more days out and you are refunded what you paid less any nonrecoverable costs already committed; 15 to 29 days out you choose between a 50% refund and a 100% Rockoly credit; inside 15 days payments are nonrefundable, though one complimentary reschedule is yours if you ask 30+ days ahead. The inquiry form on this page is the quickest route; events@rockoly.com and (617) 939-9732 reach the same planner. Every Rockoly event comes with the Love Your Event Guarantee: if your event doesn't live up to expectations, we'll make it right.
