Paint and Sip FAQs

Do we need any painting experience?

None at all. A live artist walks the group through it one brushstroke at a time, and every kit arrives with a premium canvas, professional brushes, vibrant paints, and stencils and templates, so nobody starts at a blank white void. The session is paced for all levels, and the goal was never a gallery piece. It's the hour your team spends comparing clouds and laughing at each other's trees. If someone on your team is certain they can't draw, this is the format built for them.

What will we actually paint?

You pick one theme for the whole group: Abstract Art Adventure, Scenic Landscapes, Seasonal & Botanical Bliss, or Winter Fun. Your artist builds the session around whichever you choose, and customization is free if you'd like it pointed at a holiday or a team milestone.

There's more history in that lineup than you'd guess. Europe's art academies spent roughly two centuries ranking subjects in a strict order of merit, with grand historical scenes at the top and landscapes and flowers near the bottom, so landscape painters had to argue for their own respectability for generations. Abstraction is younger still: painters like Kandinsky only broke fully from depicting real objects in the early 1910s. Your team gets to skip several centuries of that argument and paint whichever one sounds fun.

What are the drink options for the sip half?

Three routes. Rockoly's in-house sommelier curates the wine pairings, which run to Italian reds, a Spanish red and white, or a Mediterranean duo, and the bottles ship alongside the art supplies. If your team would rather shake something, take the cocktail route: we recommend the Magic Show kit with its Lavender Magic and Pineapple Spice drinks, and any of our other drink kits works too, in mocktail or full-strength form. Or book Just Paint and pour whatever's already in your fridge.

Something to say out loud while you swirl: almost every wine grape has clear juice, red varieties included. A red wine takes its color and its tannin from the time the juice spends soaking on the skins after crushing, not from the juice itself. That's why Champagne houses can press red Pinot Noir gently and get a pale, white sparkling wine out of it. Hold the Spanish red and the Spanish white side by side and you're looking at one decision, made at the crusher, doing all of that work.

We've done cooking classes before. What does a paint and sip do that they don't?

A much lower bar to entry, and something to keep afterwards. Painting needs no kitchen, no knives, no heat and no prep, so it works for the teammate eating at their desk, the one sharing a kitchen with three housemates, and the one who has never especially enjoyed a cooking class. A live artist takes the whole group through one theme at the same pace, so nobody is ahead of anyone else.

It fits a normal meeting block too: Just Paint and the wine version run 60 minutes, the cocktail version 90. Team engagement is built into the session rather than left to the chat window, and everyone signs off with a canvas of their own. A month later a meal is a memory; the painting is still propped up on somebody's desk.

What does the rate cover, and what does it cost?

Everything but the wall you hang it on. Every version includes a live artist, a dedicated event planner, and all art supplies delivered, meaning premium canvas, professional brushes, vibrant paints, stencils and templates. Gratuities and all service fees are in the rate, customization is free, and standard shipping inside the US costs nothing. Price then follows your headcount and what's in the glass:

  • Just Paint, 60 minutes: $495 for a group under five, then $99 per person for 5 to 30, $89 for 31 to 50, and $79 above 50.
  • Paint & Sip Wine, 60 minutes: $795 under five, then $159, $149 and $139 per person across those same bands, with the sommelier's wine delivery included.
  • Paint & Sip Cocktails, 90 minutes: $745 under five, then $149, $139 and $129 per person for the mocktail kit. With alcohol delivered instead, it's $995 under five, then $199, $189 and $179.

Your planner confirms the exact figure for your headcount before you take it to finance, and nothing gets added on top afterwards.

How large can the group be, and what about people who don't drink?

Groups run from 3 to 600 and up. Very large teams usually get split by department or spread across a couple of days, so the artist can still see faces and use names. Nobody has to drink alcohol to enjoy this one: the cocktail kit comes in a mocktail version, Just Paint skips drink delivery altogether, and no-alcohol is one of the requests we accommodate at no extra cost when you flag it in advance, along with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and kosher.

Supplies ship to each guest's own address, so a team scattered across cities and time zones is routine rather than a complication. We run on Zoom by default and work on Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and WebEx if your company standardizes on one of those. We deliver outside the US as well, including Australia, the UK, Canada, Sweden, Ireland, Germany, South Africa, Mexico, India and Spain, though your planner will confirm what can travel with alcohol to each address.

How far ahead do we need to book a paint and sip?

About three weeks is comfortable, or closer to four if you are adding wine or a cocktail kit. That gap is not padding: alcohol ships separately from the art supplies and travels under its own rules, so the drinks are always the slowest thing in the box. Rush dates are sometimes possible depending on artist availability, so ask before you rule your date out.

A $250 deposit holds it, and we take credit card, ACH bank transfer or check. Cancel at least 48 hours before the event, or within 24 hours of purchase, for a full refund, and you can reschedule up to 48 hours out. Every event carries the Love Your Event Guarantee: your team should have an amazing experience, and if your Rockoly event doesn't live up to expectations, we'll make it right.

Send the inquiry form on this page, call (617) 939-9732, or email events@rockoly.com, and a planner picks it up from there.
