Description

Make momo, Nepal's dumplings, from scratch: roll your own wrappers, fill them with spiced chicken (turmeric, cumin and chili), then make a tomato-tahini dipping sauce with cilantro and lemon. The chef guides every fold, so first-timers keep pace, and vegetarians and vegans fill theirs with mushrooms instead.

Add-ons

Complete the occasion with a wine pairing add-on to complement the flavors of this dish.

Process and timeline

From the moment you book to the moment the chef says hello.

  1. When you book

    Hold your date

A $250 deposit reserves the date and comes off the total in full. Dates 2 weeks out book instantly; sooner than that, ask and we can often expedite.

  2. Within a day

Your event planner gets in touch

Every event gets a dedicated planner, at no cost. They shape it around your team — the menu, the timings, dietary needs, and the parts that make it yours.

    • Free customization of the menu and the run of show
    • Free engagement games to open or close the session
    • Extra cheers, toasts and shout-outs for birthdays, wins and farewells
    • Dietary adjustments for anyone who needs them
  3. As soon as you like

    Collect guest addresses

We send every guest a short form to fill in themselves, so you never chase anyone for a home address. Prefer to handle it yourself? Send us the list instead.

  4. 14 days before

    Addresses in

That is the deadline for free standard shipping anywhere in the US. International delivery is available to most countries at additional cost, and those addresses are due earlier.

  5. A couple of days before

    Fresh ingredients arrive

Not a box packed a week ago: each guest’s ingredients are bought fresh at a local store — Whole Foods first choice, or the best grocer near them — and delivered to their door, so what they cook with is fresh on the day.

  6. Event day

Everyone joins and the chef takes it from there

One link, no software to install. Your planner is on hand in the background if anything needs sorting mid-event.

Agenda / Run of show

A breakdown of how the 90 min runs.

  1. 0:00 – 0:07

    Welcome & introduction

Meet your chef and host, run through the ingredients and equipment, and say hello to the team.

  2. 0:07 – 0:20

    Mise en place

Prep and portion everything before the cooking starts — the step that makes the rest calm.

  3. 0:20 – 0:54

    Cook together

The chef leads the dish step by step, at a pace the whole group can follow, with tips as you go.

  4. 0:54 – 1:07

    Team break

While something rests or bakes, the host runs a short icebreaker or trivia round.

  5. 1:07 – 1:20

    Finish & plate

Bring it together, plate it up and learn how a chef would serve it.

  6. 1:20 – 1:30

    Taste, group photo & Q&A

Eat what you made, take the team photo, and ask the chef anything.

What guests said about this experience

Verified guest

The event was so much fun! We had a few team members missing items from the grocery drop off, but your team was quick to have it fixed. I would suggest maybe just having your grocery vendors conduct a quality review before shipping to ensure they have captured all items would reduce extra work for your team and participants should they have to source them directly.

Momos and gyoza look similar and aren't — the pleating is different and so is the dipping sauce, which here is closer to a tomato-based achar than a soy dip. Chef Dixya was good on that distinction and on where the dish sits in Nepalese food generally, which gave the hour more substance than a recipe walkthrough.

The dough is four ingredients and behaves completely differently depending on how long you rest it — that was the useful lesson. Chef Dixya made everyone wait rather than pressing on, and the difference in how it rolled out afterwards was obvious. Mine went from tearing constantly to rolling thin without a fight.

Easy to organize for a spread-out team, and genuinely inclusive — it's vegetarian by default, so there was no separate version for anyone. Ingredients arrived on time and the only equipment needed was a rolling pin and a steamer, which people improvised with a colander and a lid.
