Process and timeline

From the moment you book to the moment the chef says hello.

  1. When you book

    Hold your date

A $250 deposit reserves the date and comes off the total in full. Dates 2 weeks out book instantly; sooner than that, ask and we can often expedite.

  2. Within a day

Your event planner gets in touch

Every event gets a dedicated planner, at no cost. They shape it around your team — the menu, the timings, dietary needs, and the parts that make it yours.

    • Free customization of the menu and the run of show
    • Free engagement games to open or close the session
    • Extra cheers, toasts and shout-outs for birthdays, wins and farewells
    • Dietary adjustments for anyone who needs them
  3. As soon as you like

    Collect guest addresses

We send every guest a short form to fill in themselves, so you never chase anyone for a home address. Prefer to handle it yourself? Send us the list instead.

  4. 14 days before

    Addresses in

That is the deadline for free standard shipping anywhere in the US. International delivery is available to most countries at additional cost, and those addresses are due earlier.

  5. The day before or the day of

    Fresh ingredients arrive

Not a box packed a week ago: each guest's ingredients are bought fresh at a local store — Whole Foods first choice, or the best grocer near them — and delivered to their door, so what they cook with is fresh on the day.

  6. Event day

Everyone joins and the chef takes it from there

One link, no software to install. Your planner is on hand in the background if anything needs sorting mid-event.

Agenda / Run of show

A breakdown of how the 60 min runs.

  1. 0:00 – 0:05

    Welcome & introduction

Meet your chef and host, run through the ingredients and equipment, and say hello to the team.

  2. 0:05 – 0:13

    Mise en place

Prep and portion everything before the cooking starts — the step that makes the rest calm.

  3. 0:13 – 0:36

    Cook together

The chef leads the dish step by step, at a pace the whole group can follow, with tips as you go.

  4. 0:36 – 0:44

    Team break

While something rests or bakes, the host runs a short icebreaker or trivia round.

  5. 0:44 – 0:52

    Finish & plate

Bring it together, plate it up and learn how a chef would serve it.

  6. 0:52 – 1:00

    Taste, group photo & Q&A

Eat what you made, take the team photo, and ask the chef anything.

What guests said about this experience

Cake donuts rather than yeast-raised ones, which is the right choice for a session — no proving, so you go from bowl to eating in well under an hour. They're shallow fried rather than deep fried, which was the thing that made me willing to try it at home; a shallow pan of oil is much less daunting than a vat. Chef Emily was specific about the oil temperature and about not crowding the pan, since the temperature drops the moment too many go in and then they absorb oil instead of frying.

The donut holes are made from the middles rather than being a separate thing, which is obvious once you see it and had genuinely never occurred to me. Beyond that, the useful lesson was that the dough wants to be barely mixed — overworking it makes them tough, which is the same rule as scones and muffins and which I keep having to relearn.

Theo

Chef Emily was clear and easy to follow, and the decorating stage at the end is where it stops being a baking class and turns into something sillier. Everyone customised theirs and the results were compared at length. She was also sensible about letting them cool slightly before glazing, or the glaze slides straight off.

Easy to organize and a good pick for a morning slot — it's quick, everyone knows what a donut is, and there's no technique that intimidates the people who don't bake. The one thing worth flagging to your group in advance is that there's frying involved, so they need a suitable pan and somewhere reasonably ventilated. Ours arrived on time and nothing was missing.
