Description

On August 26th, Rockoly proudly celebrates Women’s Equality Day, a day dedicated to honoring the efforts of courageous activists, celebrating the remarkable achievements of women, and reaffirming our commitment to equality under the law.

Process and timeline

From the moment you book to the moment the chef says hello.

  1. When you book

    Hold your date

A $250 deposit reserves the date and comes off the total in full. Dates 2 weeks out book instantly; sooner than that, ask and we can often expedite.

  2. Within a day

Your event planner gets in touch

Every event gets a dedicated planner, at no cost. They shape it around your team — the menu, the timings, dietary needs, and the parts that make it yours.

    • Free customization of the menu and the run of show
    • Free engagement games to open or close the session
    • Extra cheers, toasts and shout-outs for birthdays, wins and farewells
    • Dietary adjustments for anyone who needs them
  3. A week before

    Your shopping list arrives

Suggestions rather than a fixed list, so everyone can work with what is already in their kitchen. Bring your own produce, jars and whatever else you fancy putting up.

  4. Event day

Everyone joins and the chef takes it from there

One link, no software to install. Your planner is on hand in the background if anything needs sorting mid-event.

How to join

Default video platform

Zoom

  • Your event planner sends the Zoom link with your confirmation, and again the day before.
  • Prefer Microsoft Teams or Google Meet? Say so when you book and your host will run it there instead.
  • No account or download needed for guests — the link opens in a browser.

Things you'll need

Everything else is in the box we ship to each guest.

To join

  • A laptop or tablet with a camera
  • A stable internet connection
  • Somewhere to prop the screen where you cook

Kitchen equipment

  • A chopping board and a sharp knife
  • Mixing bowls — large and small
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • A large pan or skillet
  • A stove, and an oven if your chef calls for it

Also handy

  • Salt, pepper and cooking oil
  • A kitchen towel
  • Somewhere clear to work
  • An appetite

Bring your own

Nothing ships — you bring the ingredients

Shopping list
Sent ahead of the session, with suggestions rather than a fixed list — the point is to use what you already have.
Equipment
Whatever you cook with at home. Nothing specialised is needed.
Lead time
Short, and that is the advantage: with nothing to ship, this one can still make a date the others cannot.
Instant booking
Available for events at least 2 weeks out. Sooner than that, ask us — we can often expedite.

What guests said about this experience

Verified guest

Booked for 26 August and it's a menu collection rather than one class, so the substance depends on what you pick — worth choosing deliberately if you want the occasion marked rather than just noted. What we appreciated is that it's framed around the history of the amendment and the activists behind it rather than a generic celebration, and the material was delivered accurately and without being smoothed into something inoffensive.

I hadn't been to a work event for this date before and had low expectations, mostly of a slide deck. Cooking together turned out to be a better vehicle — people talked to each other rather than listening to someone present at them, and the conversation kept going after the formal part ended.

Sofia

A tie-in with actual content behind it rather than a badge applied to a normal session. The history is specific and the cooking is taught properly, and neither is treated as the excuse for the other. That combination is harder to find than it should be for observance days.

Chloe

The context was given with care and without either overclaiming or being tokenistic, which is the narrow path these things have to walk. Our team asked more questions than they usually do, and a couple of people said afterwards it was the first time an observance day at work hadn't felt like an obligation.
