The name is accurate — the whole point is that a frittata is a method rather than a recipe, and once you know the egg-to-filling ratio you can use whatever is in the fridge. That was taught explicitly rather than as an aside, which makes it one of the more genuinely useful sessions. Starting it on the hob and finishing it under the grill is the technique bit, and the vegetables have to be cooked and drained first or the whole thing weeps water.
